5.4.1 Pilot house doors
There are three lockable doors to the pilot house.
Risk of material damage.
The doors can break if they are slammed shut.
Keep the doors closed when the speed is over 5 knots.
Avoid using the sliding doors on rough seas to prevent the doors coming off its rails.
Rocking of the boat may cause the doors to close regardless of the latch.
The door is a four-panel folding door. Two panels open to the port side and two panels open to the starboard side. The door can be opened partially by opening only the two center panels. When fully opened, each door half folds back on itself and stows alongside the pilot house side wall.
The door can be locked and unlocked from both inside and outside.
The door is a two-piece sliding door where both door sections operate independently of each other. The rear door section can be locked in both the fully closed and fully open positions. The front door section has three positions, closed, partially open (ventilation position), and fully open.
